The sail plan was not part of the Virginia design approved by the US Coast Guard. It has been used to create several models of Virginia, and along with the detailed drawings in the Virginia book it was used to create the rigging for Virginia.

This plan shows the ocean rigging from four perspectives. The central view is the lateral (side) view showing all of the sails and other rigging. The two side views are transverse views at the mizzen and the main mast frames. The lower view is an ariel view showing the on-deck rigging.
