The Jane Stevens Visitor Center of Maine’s First Ship is open again. Join us to see the progress in building Virginia. We are located in the Bath Freight Shed at 27 Commecial St, Bath Maine.
- Summer: Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day
- Wednesday to Sunday 10am-2pm
- Spring, Fall, Winter:
- Wednesday and Saturday: 10am-2pm
The Visitor Center is also open on Memorial Day and Labor Day, and is closed for the end of year holidays.
Inside the boatshed you can now walk up onto the deck of Virginia. Work on the ship is being done most days of the week. The boatshed and parts of the freight shed and boat yard are active construction sites. Take proper safety precautions when visiting the site.
The Visitor Center is free, but we are an all-volunteer organization and we appreciate your donations. You can donate at any time using the Donate button at the bottom of any page on the web site.
Covid-19 note: The Visitor Center adhers to the requirements of the State of Maine for facemasks and social distancing when inside.
If you are unable to join us in Bath, you can follow the progress here on the website. See mfship.org/status to view our progress.
The current plan is to launch Virginia in Spring 2022 (probably May or June).
