Maine's First Ship Events in Faill 2025
Although Virginia still has public sailings on the Kennebec River in September and October, the summer season at Maine’s First Ship is coming to a close. Virginia made port visits to Boothbay Harbor for the Windjammer Days, Colonial Pemequid for the 17th Century Event, Popham for Flare Night, and Camden for the Windjammer Festival.
There are a number of events this fall at the Bath Freight Shed.
- On Sunday September 21, we are hosting an English Tea Party, with a selection of fine teas, sandwiches, and pastries, accompanied by music and storytelling.
- On September 26-28 ,while the Visitor Cenber is open, we will host the Downeast Ship Modelers Guild exibit of model ships. This event is free with admission to the Visitor Center (which is free for members).
- On Saturday October 4 we are hosting our 11th annual Fiber Day, a celebration of fiber arts, both modern and traditional. This will include hands-on demonstrations. That day is also Bath Citizen Involvement Day and Bath Autumnfest. As part of these events, we offer free admission to the Visitor Center.
- On October 6 we host the 4th annual Chinese Hotpot Full Moon Dinner with chefs Chris Toy and Jeff Mao. We celebrate the harvest full moon with local vegetables, meat, and fish, which you cook yourself at your table.
- Our fall events culminate on October 25 with the Maritime Music Celebration. We bring together, and in some cases out of retirement, musicians for an evening of Maine’s finest seafaring music. Join us for this special event.

The Bath Farmers Market is indoor starting November 1, 2025. In early November, we will be downrigging Virginia. We are looking for help, especially from people with rigging experience and those willing and able to climb the rigging. Use the Contact Us button below to volunteer.
