Coastal Navigation with Captain Emma Hathaway

Saturday May 2 and Sunday May 3 8am-3pm

Join Maine’s First Ship and Captain Emma Hathawy for a two-day class on Coastal Navigation. Learn to navigate the coast of Maine using paper charts, compasses, dividers, and navigational triangles. You can expect to learn triangulation, how to take a bearing, plot a course, dead reckoning, latitude and longitude, tides, and currents. This class will allow you to be a confident navigator under all Maine conditions. 

The cost of the class in $300 per person, and includes all necessary materials. There is a maximum of 8 students in the class. You can pay at the class , but you must register ahead of time using the form below.

The class is held at the Bath Freight Shed, 27 Commercial St, Bath Maine 04530.
