Directions to Maine's First Ship Visitor Center

Maine’s First Ship Visitor Center is located on the waterfront in historic Bath Maine in the Bath Freight Shed. It is just east of the 1852 Customs House, and just north of the Sagadahoc Bridge across the Kennebec River. Enter the Visitor Center at the north door.

From US-1 North, stay in the right lane and take the exit labeled Historic Bath. Keep going thru the intersection and past the Bath railroad station which is now the Visitor Info Center. Keep going around the corner and the Bath Freight Shed is the large yellow building on your right.

From US-1 South, when crossing the Kennebec River, stay in the right lane and take the exit to Bath. Turn right at the stop sign, and right again at the next intersection. The Bath Freight Shed is right ahead of you.

The Bath Freight Shed is just one block east of the corner of Front and Centre which are the two main streets with restaurants and shops in central Bath.
