In the spirit of #GivingTuesday we encourage you to show your generosity—whether it’s helping a neighbor, advocating for an issue, sharing a skill, or giving to a cause, everyone has something to give and every act of generosity counts.
Your support makes a difference. Thank you!

It’s Small Business Saturday and we encourage you to remember your neighbors—and ours—whether shopping for the holidays or for household needs. It’s always a good idea to support the businesses that help create our local communities, and this year it is even more necessary. Shop local; shop small; and stay safe out there. #shopsmall #fortheloveofbath ... See MoreSee Less

Happy Thanksgiving! Our work as an organization and human beings is amazing. Cant wait to see Virginia on the river sailing out to open water. To be on her when it happens would be the finest of times but I know so many others deserve that privilege more than I. I'll have to wait my turn.

The landing for the MFS wharf is taking shape along the Kennebec River next to the Bath Freight Shed. There is still work this fall on the wharf, but it will soon be winter. We are still looking for donations for the wharf, and the other projects we need to complete before we can launch Virginia.

The Visitor Center is closed this winter, but you can keep track of what is happening on Virginia at mfship.org/virginia-status , You can explore the pinnace Virginia, Maine's First Ship, the history of the area, and the Bath Freight Shed at mfship.org/ .

Inside the freight shed we are rearranging the rigging to allow the Bath Farmers Market to move indoors starting in December. In the boathouse, work continues on the bulwarks, caulking the deck, and installing the lead keel.

Because we want to keep all involved safe we are closing the visitor center until the spring. If you want to arrange a tour call the office, 207-443-4242, to set up a time: we will consider requests based on current conditions and volunteer availability. Keep in mind the office is only staffed part-time.
Take care, stay safe, and we will see you in the spring.
